Our Investigation Process

1. Initial Request

A client submits a request through our website.

2. Case Review

Investigators review the information provided and determine whether additional information is needed.

3. Historical Research

Whenever possible, HGWI researches the history of the property and surrounding area.

4. Investigation

If appropriate, investigators conduct an on-site investigation using established procedures and documentation standards.

5. Analysis and Reporting

Evidence is reviewed, findings are documented, and a final report is prepared for the client.

A Note from the Founder

HGWI began in 2004 with a simple idea: help people, document what we find, and treat every case with respect.

Over the years, Historic Ghost Watch & Investigation became more than a paranormal investigation group. It became a place for friendship, learning, history, and shared experiences that stayed with us long after the investigations ended.

Some of my most meaningful memories with HGWI have involved family. From my son’s first investigation at Hell’s Church in 2004, to investigations with my father at places like Waverly Hills Sanatorium, the USS North Carolina, and Willard Library, this organization has become part of our family story as much as our investigative work.

HGWI has changed over time. The equipment has changed. The way we document cases has changed. The way we communicate and organize has changed. But the mission has not.

We are here to help people who are experiencing something they do not understand. We are here to preserve the history connected to the places we investigate. We are here to listen, document, research, and approach every case with compassion and integrity.
